Australian Social Responsibility
Rather than income or societal wealth gap; social responsibility, innovation and aggregation of resources to thrive in a digitally connected global economy should be the focus of comparative analysis of Australia and US.
These societal, governmental and cultural undercurrents will determine the success or failure and sustainability of countries and societies in the years to come. While the inc…reasing inequality gap is interesting to note, Australia’s inequality gap between rich and poor is far behind US and unlikely to move towards a Mexico. I do not think this is because of any profound social conscience or alarm bells by Australian versions of Paul Krugman. In my view, “Occupy (anywhere)”, referred to unnecessarily in the article, hasn’t found a singular voice, or a uniting productive social message, cause or challenge. I would be very interested in articles on any kind of comparative social conscience or social responsibility and awareness between people in the two Countries and the fostering of innovation in both US and Australia.
